In order to fully support a 21st-century learning environment and to attract new students, Corpus Christi School in Warwood, Wheeling, completed its science lab renovation. The school began the project at the start of summer break last June.

“Corpus Christi School would like to say thank you to all who donated to this much-needed project. A special thanks to the Schenk Charitable Trust, which pledged to match all funds raised for this project. The James B. Chambers Memorial Foundation and the Pangilinan family also are lead donors, and we are grateful to them for this significant gift toward Catholic education and science,” said development director Miranda Shaner. “Thank you to all donors who contributed to this project. Corpus Christi School could not have completed this without the help and support of so many.”

Used by grades 4-8 on a daily basis, the science lab is located on the third floor of the school building.

The goal of the science lab improvement was to make the space up to date with appropriate technology for the students.

The renovation plan included new lighting, electrical components, flooring, cabinets, counters, sinks, lab tables, chairs and a fully equipped teacher station. The updated space also  includes a 65-inch interactive flat screen SMART board.

Though the renovation is now complete, Shaner is still seeking donations to cover the costs of the work.
