Corpus Christi School recently endowed a $56,000 scholarship fund to help families with tuition costs and is planning an open house from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8.
The school now has seven scholarships to offer students in addition to the Diocesan Financial Aid Program (TAPS). These scholarship funds include:

∫ The Father A.J. Myles Scholarship
∫ The Frank Lubic Memorial Scholarship
∫ The Margaret Hehr Scholarship
∫ The Ralph & Mary Krasevec Scholarship
∫ The Schmitt Family Scholarship
“Corpus Christi School is extremely grateful to our scholarship donors. They give the gift of education to deserving families who desire an education at Corpus Christi School,” said Advancement Director Miranda Zambito
Parents and guardians are encouraged to apply for the Diocesan Tuition Assistance Program immediately prior to qualifying for any other scholarship from CCS. The TAPS process opened up to families in February (see corpuschristiwheeling.com/admissions/financial-aid/).
Most scholarships available are offered to all students who are seeking a CCS education, and have addition financial need beyond what they may have already qualified to receive through the Diocesan Financial Aid Program. These scholarships are awarded on an annual basis and the amount per scholarship varies depending on the criteria. They are distributed in mid-June for families to use toward the next school year.
“Some people may think that Catholic education is too expensive but it is our desire to make a CCS education accessible for interested families. It is our goal to establish more resources through private fundraising to offer opportunities to students and encourage more families to see the quality education we provide,” said Zambito.
“We are always here to discuss financial aid opportunities and are happy to answer any questions concerning tuition and scholarships. We believe, and many alumni agree, the return on your investment is priceless,” she added.
“This is a great time to explore what CCS has to offer your child and learn more about the financial aid opportunities regarding tuition and scholarships,” said Principal Dick Taylor, who has been a member of the faculty for 42 years.
“Contributions toward our scholarship funds have never been more meaningful and are always welcomed.
“Please consider giving a gift to one of our scholarship funds to impact current and future CCS students. This is a way to advance the Corpus Christi School of providing a traditional Catholic education. It is also a way to give an opportunity directly to a student seeking a Corpus Christi School education,” said Zambito.
“Gifts of any amount are tax-deductible. On your contribution please write the scholarship fund name you would like your donation to go toward. Contributions can be sent to 1512 Warwood Ave., added Zambito.
